Riding for Cancer Research
The Pan-Mass Challenge has been part of my life for more than four decades. As a physician and a two-time cancer survivor, the ride is both a personal commitment and a way to support continued progress in cancer care.
The PMC
The Pan-Mass Challenge is an annual bike-a-thon that raises funds for cancer research, treatment, and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Since its founding in 1980, the PMC has brought together riders, volunteers, sponsors, donors, clinicians, researchers, patients, and families around a shared purpose: improving the lives of people affected by cancer.
The PMC has raised more than $1 billion for Dana-Farber. Its model is direct and powerful: 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes to cancer resaerch.
My Commitment
I have participated in the Pan-Mass Challenge for 42 years and have raised more than $250,000 to help defeat cancer.
For me, the PMC is not simply an annual ride. It is a long-standing commitment to patients, families, researchers, and clinicians working toward better treatments and, ultimately, cures. It reflects my belief that progress in cancer care depends not only on science, but also on the communities that sustain and support that work.
